The Mystery Of Israel

March 1st, 2008 · No Comments

I was in Israel. A country, a nation and a mystery. Beautiful and breathtaking. From the super modern Tel Aviv and his endless beaches to the electrifying Jerusalem with 1204 synagogues, 158 churches, and 73 mosques within the city.. I am thrilled and I don’t know why, but something wants me back. Perhaps my curiosity and affection for Mediterranean life style, perhaps the startling energy and warmth of its people. I have to thank my friend, amazing entrepreneur and guitar hero Tal Keinan from SemantiNet for inviting me over and arranging this unforgettable trip.

Did you know that Israel:
- has 7.2 million people
- boast a 5.3% GDP growth and a GDP/pc of $23.000 USD
- invests $1.8B a year into high-tech companies
- has 135 engineers per 10.000 employees v 70 in the US or 28 in the UK
- R&D expenditures are highest in the world with 4.55% of the GDP v 1.88% in the UK
