Please, take some time to see the movie Eartlings. Named Best documentary film of the Year.

At moments quite hard to watch (if you are sensitive to animal violence) but you have to get through it- and determine for yourself how you want to make a change. AND You have to: if the world keeps going like this, our days and those of our next generations will be much more sad..

EARTHLINGS is a feature length documentary about humanity’s absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research). The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (GLADIATOR). With an in-depth study into pet stores, puppy mills and animals shelters, as well as factory farms, the leather and fur trades, sports and entertainment industries, and finally the medical and scientific profession, EARTHLINGS uses hidden cameras and never before seen footage to chronicle the day-to-day practices of some of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit. Powerful, informative and thought-provoking, EARTHLINGS is by far the most comprehensive documentary ever produced on the correlation between nature, animals, and human economic interests. There are many worthy animal rights films available, but this one transcends the setting. EARTHLINGS cries to be seen.

    Andrej,

I feel for the animals too, however this kind of activism (coming from the same camp of “new-age” believer as the global warming religion) is bound to fail. We’re not going to change.
But in the next years (decades) there will surely be major breakthroughs in science, which will enable us being less cruel to animals, and perhaps even ourselves.

    The keyword is technology.

I’m a incorrigible optimist- I believe we are on the verge of a profound change in society. The technologies of today enable us with unprecedented opportunities for collective wisdom and- action. Never before could mankind access any information at any time and form fluid structures, globally. When a few million people can share the same intention at the same time-like pangea day, something can change. It’s empowered by technology but the real change has to come from within us. And that is happening- right now.
