“When the present catches up with the future.”

MarcMarc Canter founded Macromind, which became Macromedia, where he invented the underlying technologies of the multimedia web of today..His new start-up is People Aggregator, a white-label opensource social network..

I met with Marc in Amsterdam over a real american 100% weed joint and a good cup of tea. Super-fast brain and funky on-the-edge visions on one side, and a warm, fatherly karma on the other (he IS a father of five).

Even the disliked by Marc would describe him as:

I meet a lot of interesting people in this business, but a few stand out more than others. Anyone who’s met Marc Canter knows what I’m talking about. Marc is a big, boisterous fellow, mostly good-natured, and very outspoken. The guy is sharp and passionate, and has a proven track record of getting things done in the Valley.. He’s also got an incredibly cute baby daughter, which is a bit unfair, because it makes it difficult for me to get mad at him.

Scoble has recently interviewed him at Gnomedex.
It’s a fantastic interview, where Marc talks about the starting days of Macromedia, how they ousted him, about Silicon Valley VC’s, open-standards, Activity Based Computing, digital lifestyle aggregation, the future future ideas and how he enjoys live and his family.

Watch the video interview with Marc.
